Available Lhasa Apsos

Scroll down for photos and pedigrees of upcoming breedings. For those who have been patiently waiting for puppy news…

Ella’s puppies, the first combination of the FFT lineage with the Gompas, were born March 1st; 2 black & tan males, one gold sable female. With three of us – Julie, Melissa and myself – as co-breeders, time will tell which male puppy is available for a home of his own.  We will be keeping the female and one of the males. Julie flew in the first weekend in May. Melissa will be here Memorial Day weekend, combining an agility competition with her puppy visit.

Takpa was bred to Danba May 10.  She’ll be ultrasounded in about a month to confirm pregnancy.

The Chloe and Edmund breeding in December was unsuccessful and will be repeated in May/June, Chloe’s next season. With the help of progesterone testing and Dr. Hess’s guidance, the repeat breeding should be successful. Several of you have been waiting for this litter in particular. Keep your fingers crossed!

The second combination of FFT with the Gompa lineage, Jena will be bred to Rishi her next season.

Ananda will be bred to Siku her next season. This particular litter will be another first – 3/4′s Gompa and 1/4 Hamilton – and should prove very interesting.

Whisper will be bred next year to which ever of the Ella/Danba males we keep. And sometime down the road, after Margo and I play a little in the ring – whatever venue we decide – it might be fun to breed her to Elliot.

Responsible for each of these dogs, from conception throughout their life, we are extremely careful about choosing homes for our Lhasa Apsos. We take great care to ensure our dogs have good temperaments, healthy genes and are representative of this ancient breed. Most new owners choose to fly or drive and hand carry their new Lhasa Apso back to its Forever Home.  Shipping can be arranged to approved homes, weather permitting. If you are interested in purchasing a Lhasa Apso from us, please fill out this questionnaire. To meet us and some of the people with our dogs, join us on the blog. Scroll down for information on litters planned in the upcoming year or so, along with adult dogs looking for Forever Homes.

Siku, Ananda and possibly Takpa will be available for Forever Homes later this year. If you’d rather forego the puppy stage, consider one of these dogs coming into your life. If you’re wondering if a retired show/breeding dog, rather than a puppy, is for you, consider this, written by Jacque Wolffe. ”There is another side to placing retired show/breeding dogs. It comes from people who are fortunate enough to receive these dogs. I speak with experience as I have a breeding dog that is a champion, a beautiful representation of her breed. This breeder trusted us to care for this dog that was still in her breeding program. We took the responsibility very seriously. When the breeder decided that the dog was no longer needed in her breeding program she was spayed and transferred to us. She’s a fantastic dog that enjoys Rally obedience and agility. We’ve returned to the breeder’s home, this fine little girl loves her breeder, but when it’s time to go she’s right there with us – no problem with bonding issues here.”
