Alma and Roadie…and teeth

Heard from Alma:

Debbie, I took Roadie to the vet for a check up since he is now 6 years.    He weighs 21.9 lbs, heart good, ears and Eyes good.  He told me to wipe his  teeth with a  wash cloth ????  Don’t know about that (smile)  I  give him the denta stick by Pedigree after eating.

The groomer cut some of the hair  off of eyes,, don’t know if it was an inverted cut or not.  He looks like he is looking out from under an awning (smile).  He looks something like Dante on your website.

Warmly,

Alma &

So, I’m curious what the rest of you to maintain the health of your dog’s teeth.

Close your eyes

Alma shared this video with me. I’d like to share it with you. Before you click it, settle in your chair and get ready to go back…

:Roadie’s Slideshow…

At last! I have no idea how long it will take to buffer. I have no idea how to make that take less time. But, hey! Here it is! The captions on the photos after Roadie journeys to Pennsylvania were on the back of the photos Alma sent.

: Mother’s Day

I received several things today, Mother’s Day, which I’m sharing below.

I’ve been playing with slideshows this weekend. They would add a nice dimension to the blog, another dynamic piece. PhotoShop Elements makes it easy enough to create a slideshow; it’s file size, quality and length of load time that I’m experimenting with. Eventually I’ll get it all figured out, in the meantime come along on my learning curve! You’ll just have to be patient and allow the slideshows to go through that buffering process – whatever that is! – that computers do.

Damon’s slideshow.

Echo, Whisper and SiKu’s slideshow.

Happy Mother’s Day !

I thought about it this morning and not only are you Nate’s Mother, but you have been “The Mother” of all those Lhasa Apso’s for these many years.

Here’s Kathy’s Pete (litterbrother to Ginny’s Moonie). I love how Kathy photographed Pete next to Lhasa Lore.

Because of your dreams,
I was born!
Thanks Mom!
Sweet Pete

And Alma sent this. Isn’t the photo great!

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take “no” for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have the compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY

Weekend Update

Tammy just called from Pueblo, where she’s been exhibiting dogs, including Zena, this weekend. Yesterday Zena was awarded Winners Bitch for her first championship point. Today Zena won Best of Breed, Best of Winners and Winners Bitch for 2 more points! Yippee!!

To become an AKC Champion, a dog must win a total of 15 points, including 2 majors. Points are determined by the number of Lhasa Apsos entered, the state in which the show occurs and can range from 0 points to 5 points. A major is any 3, 4 or 5 point win. The two required majors must be earned under two different judges.

Shortly after, Tammy’s call, Ginny called, happy to report both Ethan and Chloe were awarded Reserve Winners both days! Christi reported Ruby made progress both days and that she had a good time this weekend.

Way to go ladies (and Ethan)!

Zena’s sire is Alma’s Roadie. Her siblings include Zeke, Ken and Katy’s Apso. Zena, Ruby, Chole and Ethan are first cousins, their dams – Cayenne and Hattie - being littersisters.
