Mary’s generations…

Mary I love this with the white background and floor!
Hi Debby:  thought I’d share my generations of Lhasas……….my 14 year old Taz
my 7 year old Roman
my 1.5 year old Moka    (who would NOT lay next to Taz)

Mary’s Moka

Hi Debby, thought I’d send a couple pics of the puppy I have from Melissa’s/Josie’s liter…….you probably know but she’s Shot in the Dark, AKA Moka.    A moka is an Italian coffee pot used on a stove, makes shots of expresso.  “all is moka,” means all is good.   I searched hard for an appropriate name.   Too much for me.

She is a happy girl and has learned the rule of Lhasa seniority very well.   It is amazing to watch how the very old can teach the very young.   She bows to Taz when he crosses her path as he doesn’t tolerate young hyperactive movement.  She’s all over Roman; he is just starting to chase, play with her.  Taz will occasionally give her an arthritic chase; she’s learned not to run into his face!!   She does a fast reverse run.  It’s funny to watch the 2 males, the relationship reminds me of a general and his soldier…………Roman often looks to Taz for direction on how to interact with her……….he doesn’t give the correction, Taz does.  I have learned how strong their bond to each other is.  She hasn’t quite figured out the role of a cat but has learned not to torment too close.  I have 2 ragdolls, about 20 lbs.  who will turn and correct her and a 6 lb. domestic short hair who will give her a verbal tongue lashing for bad behavior.  She doesn’t quite get cat lingo but knows a hiss is a warning and it’s time to change direction.

Moka’s a lot of fun and adds some smiles to the day.

From Mary:

Julie, just had to share this from my trainer at Cloud Nine.  Dawn is
owner/trainer who has quite an ackomplishment list in conformation,
obedience, agility with all her dogs.   Since I can’t take credit for the
genetics, thought I should pass it on to you.   I will probably have her run
him at a future AKC event for agility.  It is fun to see how well he runs
with an experienced handler.

Hi Mary:

I just have to tell you how awesome I think Roman is. We all know dogs are a
product of their genetics and their environment. Clearly you started with a
great dog but you’ve also turned him into quite an amazing fellow. He really
is a highlight of any class you attend with him (and you’re pretty fun
yourself), and I’m so grateful you chose my training school for his
educational needs because I can’t imagine not having had the pleasure of
knowing him (and you!)!

If you ever need a guest handler at an AKC agility trial for Roman, please
put me at the top of the list. I would be so honored to run the little guy!

:Roman’s first Rally title…

Julie forwarded the following news sent by Mary…

Attached photo of Roman’s first Rally title. He wasn’t excited
about the photo shoot, so not the best picture but he did well at the
trials, 97 or higher for scores. We will work on Rally Advanced (off leash)
after the first of the year.

Melissa ran Roman for his jumpers run our last CPE trial. He qualified and
ran really well for Melissa. It was fun to watch someone else (who is
faster, a better handler than me) run him and see the training has paid off.
It was most rewarding to see him have fun.

Take care.
Mary Rees, Roman, Taz
